Visitor Management
Visitor Management supports the Citrus County School District Safety & Security by ensuring compliance with district visitor and volunteer management policies and procedures. Putting SAFETY FIRST, Visitor Management’s focus is to:
- Implement common practices aimed at safeguarding our students.
- Uphold safety policies, procedures and security requirements for ALL visitor types (visitor, contractor, staff, volunteer) to ensure compliance with legal standards.
- Manage eligibility process of all district volunteers and chaperones, ensuring alignment with federal, state, and local laws as well as district policies.
Visitors- individuals visiting the campus for a specific reason (usually invited) for example, parent meeting/conference, guests, school event, award ceremonies, walking your child to class, shopping at a book fair, guest speaker, etc.
- Must be signed into Navigate360 as a visitor and will be monitored by staff at all times.
- Driver’s License/State Issued Identification or other forms of government issued identification (example: Passport, Military ID, International ID) are required to sign-in when on campus.
- Must wear visitor badge or credentials the entire time while on campus.
- Visitors are required to return to the main office and sign-out at the end of their visit.
Contractors- all contractors and vendors are required to be cleared through the Jessica Lunsford Act to obtain both the Statewide badge (blue) and the Citrus County School District badge (yellow).
- Must be signed into Navigate360 as a contractor/vendor.
- Must present the Statewide badge or Citrus County School District badge.
- Must enter through the main office, sign-in/out, and wear badge the entire time on campus while students are present.
Staff- all current employees of the Citrus County School District visiting a campus/site other than their assigned campus.
- Sign-in/out at the self-serve kiosk using their Employee ID#.
- Must wear their district credentials (badge) the entire time on campus.
Volunteers- a school volunteer is any nonpaid individual appointed to act on behalf of the district and/or staff who gives time to a school or school staff member while performing assigned duties. School volunteers may include, but may not be limited to, parents, senior citizens, students, and others who assist the teacher or other members of the school staff.
- Volunteers are required to complete an application and background screening.
- Volunteer applicants are subject to a National, State and local background check, and National/FDLE Sexual Offender/Predator search.
- Volunteers must be approved prior to any volunteer activity.
- Volunteers must sign-in/out as a volunteer in Navigate360.
- Volunteers must wear their district credentials (badge) or visitor badge the entire time while on campus.
