Michelle McHugh

Michelle McHugh joined the Citrus County Schools Human Resources Department in July 2026 as the Coordinator of Human Resources, bringing with her 37 years of experience in education. Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to serve as a classroom teacher, Assistant Principal, and Principal. Each of these roles has shaped Michelle’s understanding of the dedication and hard work it takes to support students and create successful schools. Her years in education have also given her a genuine appreciation for the teachers, administrators, and staff members who make a difference for students every day.

Michelle holds a master’s degree in educational leadership. After many years of working directly with students, families, and school staff, she is excited to bring her experience to Human Resources and continue doing what she values most—supporting others and helping them succeed.  In her role as Coordinator of Human Resource, Michelle values the opportunity to work alongside dedicated educators and staff members. She is grateful to continue serving Citrus County Schools, a district that has been an important part of her professional journey, and remains committed to supporting those who make a positive difference in the lives of students each day.
