Citrus County Schools

Every Journey Begins Here...

Chuck Dixon, AICP, is an experienced administrator and certified planner who bridges the gap between population growth, infrastructure demands, and educational system planning. An AICP-certified planner, he earned his Master of Science in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Tennessee and launched his career in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, before bringing his growth management expertise to Florida's Nature Coast and establishing a long-term home in Homosassa.

With over 35 years of professional experience managing growth, land development, and educational facility planning, Chuck's work uniquely intersects urban development constraints with long-range institutional forecasting, capacity modeling, and school district infrastructure needs. Prior to his current role, he spent 15 years serving as the Community Development Director for the Citrus County Board of County Commissioners.

Today, Chuck serves as the Director of Planning and Growth Management for the Citrus County School Board and as a Representative on the County Planning and Development Commission. A dedicated Citrus County resident for over three decades, he actively advocates for smart growth initiatives that protect local springs and rivers while maintaining a high quality of life, and takes pride in establishing key community partnerships, such as the collaborative agreement between the School Board and YMCA for elementary student water safety.
