Citrus County School District Receives B Grade from State!

The Florida Department of Education has released District and School Grades revealing that the Citrus County School District has risen to a “B” district continuing our trend in having high achieving schools with no “D” or “F” schools.
District and School Grades are calculated annually based on up to 12 components, including student achievement and learning gains on statewide standardized assessments. It also factors in graduation rate and percent of students successful in middle and high school accelerated pathways. School grades provide our families and the community an easily understandable way to measure the performance of a school and understand how well each school is serving its students.

Green = Improved Grade
As a district, we are seeing progress in several academic areas:
- Achievement increased in English/Language Arts (ELA), Math, Science and Social Studies
- District and School Graduation Rates increased
“I couldn’t be prouder of our teachers, administrators, and staff,” says Superintendent Scott Hebert. “Their dedication and teamwork are at the heart of our students’ success. And just as importantly, our families have been right there with us—true partners in education. When we share our vision with parents, they join us, support us, and work alongside us to make it a reality.”
Superintendent Hebert acknowledges that while progress has been made, the work continues. His goal is to lead the district to an A, and that will take everyone working together. Moving forward, the district will closely examine the data to identify where additional support is needed—because when one school needs help, we all step in. The district’s goal is to provide the necessary resources for schools to ensure all students demonstrate learning gains. School leadership teams are reviewing their goals and making sure they continue with academic success.
