Grade Determination During Distance Learning

CITRUS CARES PLAN FOR

DETERMINATION OF FINAL GRADES DURING DISTANCE LEARNING

2019-2020

The Citrus County School District is fully aware of the impact on students from the COVID 19 pandemic.  Flexibility and compassion for everyone’s life situation are of the utmost consideration.  We know that nothing replaces instruction and learning in the classroom.  During this unprecedented time, great efforts have been made to develop a system that continues to provide families and educators with important feedback regarding students’ grades and educational progress while always striving to do what is in the best interest of our students.

For the 2019-2020 school year, student grades earned during distance learning will reflect academic progress made during distance learning and, when beneficial to the student, will also account for academic progress demonstrated throughout the previous grading periods. Student promotion/retention decisions will be made in consultation with parents, teachers, and school leaders based on student classroom performance and progress monitoring data.

The Citrus County School District is committed to ensuring fairness regarding grading practices during this pandemic. We ask parents to please contact their student’s administrator if their student has experienced any extenuating circumstances that may have impacted his/her grade.
