Citrus County Schools is committed to keeping the community well informed as students and staff head back to school campuses for the 2020-21 school year.  We recognize that communication is vital during this uncertain time. We will take every step possible to provide accurate and up-to-date information, while also adhering to laws that prohibit the release of confidential medical information. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, and other privacy protection laws, prohibit us from disclosing any personally identifiable information.

Keeping our schools and workplaces healthy and safe will be a team effort and we need your help. Each school is prepared to act immediately and consistently if and when a student or staff member tests positive for COVID-19 or exhibits symptoms consistent with COVID-19.

School and parent partnerships are critical to ensuring all students are properly supported, and that staff have the information they need to assist students. Parents and legal guardians must:

  • Verify that their child’s school has accurate and current information for parent and emergency contacts via Skyward.
  • Provide complete and accurate medical information to the school on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensure the child has a face covering and is familiar with instructions for wearing it, putting it on, taking it off safely.
  • Reinforce proper hand hygiene and cough etiquette with the child.
  • Reinforce staying 6 feet apart from others.
  • Arrange for the prompt transportation of a student sent home due to COVID related illness.
  • Call the school clinic to arrange for prescription medications to be dropped off curbside to the clinic assistant or school nurse.
We ask that you please review our State-Approved School Reopening Plan.  Each step of our plan is available by clicking on any of the tabs to the left of this page.
