Citrus Cares: School Reopening Plan 2020-21

Superintendent Sam Himmel and the Citrus County School Board are committed to maintaining the health and safety of our students and staff as their top priority.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we are required by the Commissioner of Education's Emergency Order to open schools with safety measures in place for students and staff. We are also committed to providing innovative learning options.

Students will start school on August 20, 2020. This includes students who will be returning to our brick and mortar schools and/or a virtual option.

You can read through our entire plan by clicking the tabs on the left.  Each tab contains vital information related to our Reopening of Schools plan that was submitted to the State on July 31, 2020.

The following options reflect feedback from teachers, parents, staff members, and community members and are provided to best meet the needs of stakeholders. This plan is subject to change as the pandemic situation changes.
